Hi everyone!
In this post, I will go through general codes and conventions of music videos, as well as those which are specific to the genre of my song: Indie Pop. In truth, every music video is different, and codes and conventions tend to be quite broad nowadays, as they are linked to the general style of the artist. Lana del Rey and Lorde are both Indie Pop /Alternative singers and they have hugely different music videos in terms of their style.
However, this is the outline of what I have researched and found about codes and conventions for music videos and the Indie-Pop genre.
Hope you find this useful!

Next Steps:
My song "False Confidence" by Noah Kahan is an Indie Pop song. My concept for the music video will follow its codes and conventions: It will not be ostentatious and it will be on a strict budget which means I will not aim to have a "blockbuster-style" music video of any sort.
The song talks about a niche concept of mental health and self-confidence, and hence my music video will also be niche in the sense that its concept will be more abstract and full of symbolism (with post-its, a mirror, etc.)
Stay tuned to find out more about the idea!
