Hi everyone!

This is the last post of this series, I will be analysing a couple more music videos from which I intend to take inspiration. The next steps will be to analyse the music genre and the purpose of my music video with regard to the intended audience.

Stay tuned to find out more!

Are You Happy? SHY Martin

The concept of this music video is solely to portray the artist's style. However, I really like the editing of animations in this video. I would like to research how to include animated text or simple animations in Adobe Premiere Pro, as I think it could 'spice up' my music video and make it more interesting and engaging.

These animations are not very complex but really compliment the video and make a simple, aesthetic product much more original and memorable.

In my music video, I might use animated text to indicate the moods/different personality choices of my character.

In My Bed- Sabrina Carpenter

This music video is stunningly complex and well-made (with probably a big budget). I personally love Sabrina Carpenter as an artist and remembered this music video for its abstract style.

Editing and camera movement:

There is one particular shot in front of a mirror that I think works very well, and which I will try to use in my music video (that will have the mirror as an important prop).

Leads to a shot of the reflection of the artist

This simple sequence (a shot of the subject followed by a pan to the right which leads to a shot of the reflection of the subject) is very effective and I will try to implement it myself to make the mirror shots dynamic, and not only simple cuts.

Furthermore, for the montage which I plan to do for verse two, I think having parallel shots would be a great idea (as in the music video for 'Lighthouse'- see the previous post). Here, Sabrina appears four times simultaneously in one shot, and perhaps I could do something similar by having different takes with the camera in the same position and with my actress in different vertical areas of the shot.

Sabrina in four different 'vertical areas' of the same shot, the videos are edited together into the same shot.
