If you always do what you've always done, you'll always be where you've always been. - T.D. Jakes

Welcome everyone!

My name is Natalia Muñiz Blasco and I am an A-level Media Studies student. I am extremely exited to embark on yet another coursework journey which I know will be as tough as it will be rewarding in the end.

As you will discover, I am a big fan of inspiring quotes because I think they represent very clearly big concepts such as reflection. So, just because it is the first post, I am going to include another one :)

We do not learn from experience... we learn from reflecting on experience. - John Dewey.

Last year, producing the first 3 minutes of a film seemed overwhelming, and this year the task does not seem much less daunting. However, I learned that by breaking down such a huge task and taking it step by step, it all comes together in the end, and the filming process is only the coming together of all the hard work and ideas.

More than the filming process, I found it quite hard at times to stay on track with my deadlines, partly because I was still getting used to Blogger as a platform, and partly because I am such a perfectionist. This year, I already know I will take a lot of time to put the storyboard together, so I will try to do multiple tasks at the same time to avoid falling behind.

Last year I learned a lot about how to market and edit my film, using Photoshop and Premier Pro. I discovered how much I enjoyed putting together my final piece, figuring out the aesthetic inspiration, etc. The camera shots were perhaps my biggest challenge, as I did not have any experience with filming. That is why this year I am ready to do a lot of research (which did help me last year when planning my shots), as well as taking more test shots to make sure the transitions do work well.

However, other than everything I learned last year from the coursework process, I am ready to let it go and have a fresh start. This year I am more excited than ever to market a song and produce a music video that I am proud of. I am looking forward to exploiting my creative side and producing an aesthetic that reflects both the song's style as well as my own, and I am also keen to learn more about filming and making a music video that looks professional.

So, without further ado, I hope you will join me once again on this journey and see how the process slowly but surely comes together into something beautiful.

Take pride in how far you've come. Have faith in how far you can go. But don't forget to enjoy the journey. - Michael Josephson.
